Relay was a huge success:) My team raised over $1,800.00 and the province raised over $1 million.
This year was my 1st year on the Survivor Sub Committee I was down at the site from 1pm onwards assisting with the setting up of the Survivor tent it was a glorious sunny day, perfect for the event.
My team arrived at 5:30pm and they got our site set up. At 6pm I joined in on the Hands Of Hope Banner, at 6:30p we had our Survivor photo, at 7pm myself and 200 plus Survivors walked the first lap. From that lap onwards my amazing team was on the track taking turns walking. The night was beautiful it wasnt too hot or too cold and there were not too many mosquito's heheheh. There was lots of entertainment to keep everyone up and going. Music bands, scavenger hunts, themed laps and of course lots of yummy food. We ended at 5:30pm by sending special messages to heaven and then we cleaned up and wrapped up and came home to SLEEP.
We raised lots of money and even more awareness. We will make Cancer History.
